Stacking the Shelves + What's Happening October 5th

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews

Hi guys! I've got two weeks' worth of books and blog updates since I didn't have time to post last weekend. I hope you've all had a great first week of October. We've been having absolutely gorgeous weather here (southeastern-ish Ontario) and the leaves have already started to turn. The last few years the trees have been kind of blah but this year they're already absolutely beautiful and so colourful. I just hope it lasts because this is my favourite time of year and it never seems to last long!

Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi {GoodReads}
Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge {GoodReads}
House of Ivy & Sorrow by Natalie Whipple {GoodReads}
All That Glows by Ryan Graudin {GoodReads}
Sea of Shadows by Kelley Armstrong {GoodReads}
Perfect Lies by Kiersten White {GoodReads}
Great Sara Benincasa {GoodReads}

I was granted auto-approval from HarperCollins on Edelweiss last week. I love Harper; they've been very generous to me, so to get auto-approval was a huge honour. HUGE. I don't want to seem like I'm bragging because I'm honestly not...this is a big deal for me (not gonna lie, I was kind of overwhelmed when I found out and may have shed a happy tear or two).

I've been warned that with great power comes great responsibility, and while I promised myself I wouldn't go nuts downloading review copies, I kinda did. I didn't get these all at first I just got my most anticipated titles (INTO THE STILL BLUE HOLY CRAP BATMAN I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM) but then I kept going back throughout the week and downloading more. Luckily none of these even come out until next year, so I have plenty of time to read and review them.

*A massive and heartfelt thank-you to HarperCollins for these amazing titles.*

  • I was part of Jaimie Adman's blog tour for Not Pretty Enough. I reviewed the book and gave it 4 stars.
  • I reviewed Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano and gave it 4 stars. This was my first book by DeStefano, and it's now one of my top 5 favourite dystopian novels.
  • I revealed the cover of my upcoming holiday novella, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. The cover reveal includes 2 giveaways: one for a $10 Amazon gift card or $10 PayPal cash, and one for an ARC of the book.
  • The 3rd annual Spooktacular Paranormal Reading Challenge kicked off on October 1st. It's not too late to sign up (all you have to do is read and review at least one paranormal book during the month of October and you'll be entered to win a book of your choice up to $15 from The Book Depository).

I'd like to take a second to thank the amazing bloggers who participated in the cover reveal for The Most Wonderful Time of the Year this week. I appreciate your support so much!

  4. Don't even worry about freaking out that Harper whitelisted you, I did!! They are one of the best publishers out there and are super picky. It's quite an accomplishment getting up to their standards and I know it took lots of work. Be happy! (: I definitely did a double take when I saw that green "Download DRC" button. The funny thing is that before they whitelisted me, an hour earlier they had denied me access to HOUSE OF IVY & SORROW. Strange!

    I'm really looking forward to SEA OF SHADOWS. It sounds really good. I wanted to download PERFECT LIES but I didn't read the first book soooo I restrained myself. I hear FANGIRL is amazing. Enjoy!!

  5. Love the look of Fangirl, I am seeing it everywhere at the minute.
    I have also just finished Time Between Us & Time After Time!

I should probably work on figuring out exactly how that site works...I'm on it but I haven't used it much! I'm trying to be a good girl and not request too many books since I have so many others to read! Happy October :)
