Update Thursday #14

I got the idea for Update Thursday from the amazingly wonderful Jessica from Thoughts at One in the Morning. Every Thursday, I’ll be posting an update on my reading, writing, what’s going on at the blog, and anything else I think is worth mentioning.

Welcome to my first update Thursday since October! I can't believe how fast November went. I had a blast doing the Scarlet Read-Along, and now it almost seems strange to be back to regular blog posts. I've been sick since last Friday, so I haven't been getting much done in real life...I had hoped to get a head start on Christmas decorating, but I haven't done anything yet. Thank god I managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done in October and November - a first for me!

A few exciting things happened for me in November: some of you probably already know this, but I published my second novel, THE GAME CHANGER, on the 13th. It's available on Amazon, Amazon UK, Smashwords, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and most other places ebooks are sold. I participated in NaNoWriMo and won! I hit 50,000 words with a couple days to spare. I'm not done the book yet and I've set it aside temporarily, but I'm planning to do a blog post about that on my author blog (I haven't touched my author blog or my personal blog in ages...just too much going on!). And the last bit of news: my family is expanding! My brother and sister-in-law are expecting their third child. We think the baby is due in June (we'll find out for sure next week), and I'm hoping and praying for a girl. I wouldn't trade my two nephews for the world (if you know me at all, you'll know they're like my own children), but I desperately want a girl to dress up and play with and buy girly toys for and do girly things with lol. So...that's all my non-blog related news. :-)

FINISHED READING:
Since I've been sick for several days, I finally had some time to catch up on my reading. Yay! Here's what I've read since last Thursday:

The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines {GoodReads}
Belles by Jen Calonita {GoodReads}
Kismetology by Jaimie Admans {GoodReads}

CURRENTLY READING:

Poison Princess by Kresley Cole {GoodReads}

ON THE BLOG:

Review of November's read-along book Scarlet by AC Gaughen, plus a giveaway for the book and a signed bookmark!

Music Monday is back after a month-long hiatus! This week's song was Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys

Review: Chasing McCree by JC Isabella

Review: Audrey's Guide to Witchcraft by Jody Gehrman

OTHER STUFF:
I'm already up to season 5 of Supernatural on DVD. For those of you who remember, I bought all 7 seasons a couple months ago because I don't get the CW and was dying to see what all the fuss was about. Clearly I'm addicted to the show since it's only taken me a month and a bit to get through 4 whole seasons lol. I absolutely adore the Winchester boys and Bobby and Castiel too. I want to keep zooming through, but I also want to savour it because I don't want to finish yet!

I kind of lost a bit of the Christmas spirit being sick, so I'm thinking some Christmas movies are in order...I bought The Santa Clause trilogy on eBay (they're my favourite holiday movies, and I had 1 and 2 on VHS, but no VCR anymore), so I'll likely watch those soon, and break out my Christmasy CDs!

How was your November? Anything exciting happen that you'd like to tell me about? What have you been reading, writing, blogging about, listening to, watching on TV, etc?
PS - What do you think of my new Update Thursday graphic? I decided not to do a winterty/Christmasy theme on the blog since I just redid the header and background at the beginning of November, so I thought I'd jazz up some of my other graphics instead. I opted for wintery instead of Christmasy (in homage to a very special friend who doesn't celebrate Christmas). It's been awhile since I've done animated graphics, and it was fun! :-)

  4. Marie, again, you are one of the sweetest persons ever. <3

    It does seem strange to be back to regular posts... I don't even have hardly anything put together yet. I really should schedule what I have though before I forget.

    Can't wait to see your review for The Vincent Boys--I have that on my Nook and want to see if it's worth reading sometime soon. :)
