Who Do You Love? Valentine's Book Boyfriend Event!

Who Do You Love? is hosted by Kathy at I Write, I Read, I Review

Among many book bloggers, the general consensus seems to be that boys in books are better than boys in real life. For the most part, I would have to agree with this sentiment. I've had so many book crushes it's ridiculous, but when I saw this event, the first boy that came to mind was Etienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, which was one of my favorite reads of 2011.

Etienne isn't perfect, but he's pretty damn close. His character is flawed, which makes him relateable, believable, and real, and he's also sweet, kind, loyal, smart, funny, adventurous, and just an all-around amazing guy. Plus, he has some totally swoon-worthy lines! I found myself giggling like a lovesick school girl throughout a lot of the book.

Read my review of Anna and the French Kiss, in which I gush about how much I love this book. If you haven't yet acquainted yourself with the awesomeness that is Etienne St. Clair, what on earth are you waiting for?! Go buy this book! Now!

If you've read Anna and the French Kiss, what do you think of Etienne? Who's your favorite book boyfriend?

  1. Very cute post Marie. I love the check list, especially 'Likes Canadians' =)

  2. haha, thanks Patty! :-D It was so random, but it was one of my favorite parts of the book, where Etienne gave Anna a pin of a Canadian flag so she wouldn't feel like she stuck out so much.

  3. Oh, yes! Must like Canadians is definitely a "must". :D And Etienne is a great choice. I reviewed Anna pretty hard, but I do think Perkins did a fantastic job with making Etienne real and believable and creating that whole 'first love' rush. I'm having fun seeing which guys people are choosing. :) Good luck!
