Waiting on Wednesday (11) & WWW Wednesday (21)

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine and is meant to showcase upcoming releases that we're eagerly awaiting. This week I'm waiting on...

Wander Dust by Michelle Warren
Expected Publication: November 2011

I featured this book back in September for a Cover Crazy post because I freaking love this cover! It's definitely a favorite, plus the synopsis sounds amazing. And, as if that wasn't enough, Michelle is super nice and very generous to her fans. Wander Dust will be out soon, and I can't wait to read it!

Synopsis: Ever since her sixteenth birthday, strange things keep happening to Seraphina Parrish. The Lady in Black… burns Sera’s memories. Unexplainable Premonitions… catapult her to other cities. The Grungy Gang… wants to kill her. And a beautiful, mysterious boy… stalks her. But when Sera moves to Chicago, and her aunt reveals their family connection to a centuries old, secret society, she is immediately thrust into an unbelievable fantasy world, leading her on a quest to unravel the mysteries that plague her. In the end, their meanings crash into an epic struggle of loyalty and betrayal, and she’ll be forced to choose between the boy who has stolen her heart and the thing she desires most. Wander Dust is the breathtaking fantasy that will catapult you through a story of time and love.

WWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading.  All you have to do is answer these 3 questions:

1. What are you currently reading?
2. What did you recently finish reading?
3. What do you think you'll read next?
Simple right?  I love to read and love to know what other people are reading!

What are you currently reading?
I'm reading Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs, and I'm still reading the ebook Flame of Surrender by Rhiannon Paille. I really need an ereader...I've been reading Flame for like the last 3 weeks just because I have to read it on the computer and I'm already at the computer 12 hours a day trying to finish my novel for reviewers in a week (insert panic attack here). So sitting at the computer to read is a giant pain in the ass. I'm hoping to finish the ebook in the next couple days, though.

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you'll read next?
Next up is one of the books I've received for review, I'm just not sure which. I also have a couple of library books (I think I'll read All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin next), and a bunch of ebooks, too.

The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long
Expected publication: August 16th, 2012

Synopsis: The trees swallowed her brother whole. And Jenny was there to see it. Years later, when she returns to the woods where Tom was taken to say good-bye at last, she finds herself lured into a world where stunning beauty masks the most treacherous of evils, and strange and dangerous creatures await—creatures who seem to consider her the threat. Among them is Jack, mercurial and magnetic, with allegiances that shift as much as his moods. Determined to find her brother, with or without Jack’s help, Jenny struggles to navigate a faerie world where nothing is what it seems, no one is who they say, and she’s faced with a choice between salvation or sacrifice—and not just her own.

I've seen this book around the past couple of weeks and every time I see it, I get more excited to read it...and then I remember it's not coming out till NEXT AUGUST and I groan. It sounds fascinating, and if you've been to my blog regularly, you'll know I'm all about faeries. Plus, that cover is one of the most gorgeous covers I've ever seen!

1. What are you currently reading?
2. What did you recently finish reading?
3. What do you think you'll read next?
Simple right?  I love to read and love to know what other people are reading!

What are you currently reading? Right now, I'm reading a hard copy book and an ebook. The hard copy is What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen. Sarah Dessen - need I say more? The ebook is Flame of Surrender by Rhiannon Paille. I haven't had time to read it since last week and I feel really bad because the release date was yesterday, I believe, but I'm going to try to get back to it today.

What do you think you'll read next? Next up is Cloyne Court by Dodie Katague, a review book for a blog tour I'm participating in, and one of the gazillion ebooks I've received for review. I can't remember off the top of my head which is next, and since I have to run out the door in 20 minutes and I'm sitting here half-dressed with dripping hair, I don't feel like looking it up! lol

The Demon Lover by Juliet Dark
Expected publication: December 27th, 2011
{GoodReads || Amazon}
Synopsis: Since accepting a teaching position at remote Fairwick College in upstate New York, Callie McFay has experienced the same disturbingly erotic dream every night: A mist enters her bedroom, then takes the shape of a virile, seductive stranger who proceeds to ravish her in the most toe-curling, wholly satisfying ways possible. Perhaps these dreams are the result of writing her bestselling book, The Sex Lives of Demon Lovers. After all, Callie’s lifelong passion is the intersection of lurid fairy tales and Gothic literature—which is why she finds herself at Fairwick’s renowned folklore department, living in a once-stately Victorian house that, at first sight, seemed to call her name.
But Callie soon realizes that her dreams are alarmingly real. She has a demon lover—an incubus—and he will seduce her, pleasure her, and eventually suck the very life from her. Then Callie makes another startling discovery: He’s not the only mythical creature in Fairwick. As the tenured witches of the college and the resident fairies in the surrounding woods prepare to cast out the incubus, Callie must accomplish something infinitely more difficult—banishing this demon lover from her heart.

This sounds so freaking good! Sexy and mysterious and just wow. I'll admit, one thing I miss when reading YA is steamy sex scenes lol...don't judge! A girl's gotta live vicariously sometimes haha. This book seems like it'll weave a bit of everything together. Can't wait! I might have to pre-order it as a Christmas present: to me, from me. ;-)

The ebook is Flame of Surrender by Rhiannon Paille. I just started it today, I'm on page 61, and it's quite interesting.

What did you recently finish reading? Over the weekend, I participated in the Wonderfully Wicked Read-a-Thon and finished reading Farsighted by Emlyn Chand, and Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill (review to come later today or tomorrow).

What do you think you'll read next? Next up is 13 on Halloween by Laura A. H. Elliot (review book), and one of the gazillion ebooks I've received for review. I need to make a list of the order they arrived/when the reviews are due, and see what's supposed to be next.

Flirting in Italian by Lauren Henderson
Expected publication: June 12th, 2012

Synopsis: Four girls. One magical, and possibly dangerous Italian summer. Family mysteries, ancient castles, long hot nights of dancing under the stars . . . and, of course, plenty of gorgeous Italian boys!

The synopsis doesn't give us much to go on, but it sounds cute and I love the cover. I can't believe I have to wait 8 months to read this! In the meantime, I guess I'll have to pick up some of Lauren Henderson's other books.

What are you currently reading? Right now, I'm reading a paperback and an ebook. The paperback is Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill, and the ebook is Farsighted by Emlyn Chand. I'm not very far into the first book, but I'm about 1/4 of the way through Farsighted, and enjoying it.

What did you recently finish reading? Last week, I read Being Human by Patricia Lynne (I have a giveaway going on for a signed copy - the link is at the top of the blog), Hearts at Stake by Alyxandra Harvey, and Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce. I'll have the review up for Sisters Red either later today or tomorrow.

What do you think you'll read next? Well, since I'm still doing the Spooktacular Paranormal Reading Challenge, it'll be something paranormal, and god knows my list is long enough that it won't be hard to choose. I'm thinking maybe Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson.

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
Expected publication: February 7th, 2012

Synopsis: Everybody knows Cate Cahill and her sisters are eccentric. Too pretty, too reclusive, and far too educated for their own good. But the truth is even worse: they're witches. And if their secret is discovered by the priests of the Brotherhood, it would mean an asylum, a prison ship—or an early grave.

Before her mother died, Cate promised to protect her sisters. But with only six months left to choose between marriage and the Sisterhood, she might not be able to keep her word . . . especially after she finds her mother's diary, uncovering a secret that could spell her family's destruction. Desperate to find alternatives to their fate, Cate starts scouring banned books and questioning rebellious new friends, all while juggling tea parties, shocking marriage proposals, and a forbidden romance with the completely unsuitable Finn Belastra.

If what her mother wrote is true, the Cahill girls aren't safe. Not from the Brotherhood, the Sisterhood—not even from each other.

This book sounds so good! Witches, intrigue, romance - love it!  Plus, I adore the cover, it's so pretty!

The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
September 29th, 2011

Synopsis: The day Louisiana teenager Rory Deveaux arrives in London marks a memorable occasion. For Rory, it's the start of a new life at a London boarding school. But for many, this will be remembered as the day a series of brutal murders broke out across the city, gruesome crimes mimicking the horrific Jack the Ripper events of more than a century ago.

Soon “Rippermania” takes hold of modern-day London, and the police are left with few leads and no witnesses. Except one. Rory spotted the man police believe to be the prime suspect. But she is the only one who saw him. Even her roommate, who was walking with her at the time, didn't notice the mysterious man. So why can only Rory see him? And more urgently, why has Rory become his next target? In this edge-of-your-seat thriller, full of suspense, humor, and romance, Rory will learn the truth about the secret ghost police of London and discover her own shocking abilities.

I just happened across this book somewhere online Monday and it comes out tomorrow. I. Need. This. Book. For years, I've had a borderline unhealthy obsession with Jack the Ripper and this books sounds so good. *sigh* If only I could afford to buy books!

Right now, I'm reading Love at Absolute Zero by Christopher Meeks. This is a book I got as part of a blog tour. My review will be up October 13th, and the next day, I'll have a guest post from Christopher.

What did you recently finish reading?
The other day, I finished reading Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson. I loved this book. I'm hoping to have the review for it up tomorrow. Before that, I read Until the End of Forever by Shannon Hart, as part of a blog tour for Chick Lit Plus.

What do you think you'll read next?
That's a good question...I have a bunch of review books, library books, and a few books I won...I have the 2011 Spooktacular October Paranormal Reading Challenge coming up, and quite a few books lined up for that. The first ebook in the line-up is Being Human by Patricia Lynne, and I'm not sure what the first paper book will be.

WWW Wednesdays (15) & Waiting on Wednesday (4)

Happy Wednesday, guys! Be sure to check out my 200 follower giveaway and the October reading challenge I'm hosting - buttons with links to the posts are at the top and/or side of the blog. ;-)

WWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading.  All you have to do is answer these 3 questions:

2. What did you recently finish reading?
3. What do you think you'll read next?

Simple right?  I love to read and love to know what other people are reading!

What are you currently reading?
I'm a couple chapters into Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson. I started it at the library the day I picked it up, but haven't read it since because I've had other books on the go. I'm also still reading Brightwing by Sullivan Lee, an ebook I got for review. I've been so busy that I haven't had much time to read, period, but no time to read ebooks because I have to read them on the computer and I'm already at the computer non-stop getting ready for my book launch in January. Hopefully I can make time soon because I have a huge pile stacking up!

What did you recently finish reading?
Last night, I finished Until the End of Forever by Shannon Hart. I'm participating in her blog tour, hosted by Chick Lit Plus, and I'll be posting my review on the 28th and a guest post by Shannon the next day.

What do you think you'll read next?
Next up is Being Human by Patricia Lynne. Really looking forward to this book.

The Fine Art of Truth or Dare by Melissa Jensen
Publication date: February 16th, 2012

Synopsis: Ella is nearly invisible at the Willing School, and that’s just fine by her. She’s got her friends— the fabulous Frankie and their sweet cohort Sadie. She’s got her art— and her idol, the unappreciated 19th-century painter Edward Willing. Still, it’s hard being a nobody and having a crush on the biggest somebody in the school: Alex Bainbridge. Especially when he is your French tutor, and lessons have started becoming, well, certainly more interesting than French ever has been before. But can the invisible girl actually end up with a happily ever after with the golden boy, when no one even knows they’re dating? And is Ella going to dare to be that girl?

This book sounds so cute, and I love the cover. I read Falling in Love With English Boys by Melissa Jensen last month and loved it, so I'm really looking forward to this one.

WWW Wednesdays (14) & Waiting on Wednesday (3)

First, a bit of shameless self-promotion! This week, I'm participating in Novel Publicity's Social Media Whirlwind Tour to advertise Terri Giuliano Long's book In Leah's Wake. Monday's post was a Twitterview with the author, today's post is an excerpt from the book, and tomorrow post is an interview with the author. Very interesting stuff, be sure to check it out! The self-promo part: if you go to Terri's blog, you can vote for the bloggers participating in the tour, and I'd be ever-so-grateful if you'd go and vote for Ramblings of a Daydreamer. It would only take a second, and it would mean a lot to me. As incentive, I've been thinking of holding a 200 follower giveaway (I'm getting so close!) and if I win the Amazon gift certificate, that would help fund the giveaway. So please, please go vote for me!

What are you currently reading?
I'm on page 39 of Brightwing by Sullivan Lee, an ebook I'm reading for review, and I just finished a paperback, so I'm about to start Dead Over Heels by MaryJanice Davidson.
What did you recently finish reading?
Tonight, I finished Falling in Love With English Boys by Melissa Jensen. I should have the review up Saturday, I think. Before that was That Day in September by Artie Van Why (review will be up next week, along with a guest post from Artie), Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber and Rules of the Road by Joan Bauer. Since I'm such a slow reader, I've been picking shorter books lately, so I've been getting more read!

What do you think you'll read next?
I have a few to choose from: Until the End of Forever by Shannon Hart, and Love at Absolute Zero by Christopher Meeks are paperbacks I received as part of blog tours happening September and October. I also finally got Paranormalcy from the library and I'm anxious to find out what all the fuss is about. And, if all that wasn't enough, I have 4 or 5 ebooks for review and a couple of review books coming in the mail. With all that, I'm not 100% sure what's next, but I love having all these books!

The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton
Publication Date: September 27th, 2011

Synopsis: Debut novelist Kiki Hamilton takes readers from the gritty slums and glittering ballrooms of Victorian London to the beguiling but menacing Otherworld of the Fey in this spellbinding tale of romance, suspense, and danger.  The year is 1871, and Tiki has been making a home for herself and her family of orphans in a deserted hideaway adjoining Charing Cross Station in central London. Their only means of survival is by picking pockets. One December night, Tiki steals a ring, and sets off a chain of events that could lead to all-out war with the Fey. For the ring belongs to Queen Victoria, and it binds the rulers of England and the realm of Faerie to peace. With the ring missing, a rebel group of faeries hopes to break the treaty with dark magic and blood—Tiki’s blood.
Unbeknownst to Tiki, she is being watched—and protected—by Rieker, a fellow thief who suspects she is involved in the disappearance of the ring. Rieker has secrets of his own, and Tiki is not all that she appears to be. Her very existence haunts Prince Leopold, the Queen’s son, who is driven to know more about the mysterious mark that encircles her wrist.
Prince, pauper, and thief—all must work together to secure the treaty…

I love, love, LOVE faerie books and this sounds so good! I really like the concept, and like many others, I can't wait to read this book!

What are you currently reading?
I'm about to start reading Boys Next Door by Jennifer Echols, and I still have to finish Coffee at Little Angels by Nadine Rose Larter.

What did you recently finish reading?
I just (like a few minutes ago) finished reading Dead as a Doornail by Charlaine Harris.  I'll be posting the review for that tomorrow.  I usually have a few to list but I spent all of last week reading A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness and because it was only a week loan from the library, I didn't have time to finish it (almost 600 pages and I'm the slowest reader ever).  I'm hoping to get it back soon so I can finish it and finish my review.

What do you think you'll read next?
My review requests are piling up.  I have That Day in September by Artie Van Why, which I promised him I would have done before the 10-year anniversary of September 11.  I also have Brightwing by Sullivan Lee, Flame of Surrender by Rhiannon Paille, and a couple of review books coming in the mail, plus a pile of library books.  Oh and did I mention I'm trying to have my own novel ready for publication by September?  Yeah.  There really aren't enough hours in the day!

Dutch Me Deadly by Maddy Hunter
Publication date: February 8, 2012

Synopsis: As a travel escort for seniors, Emily Andrew-Miceli has led her feisty Iowa clan all over the world. This time, they’re off to see historic windmills and Dutch art in Holland—if they can ever unplug from their smartphones, that is. Joining them is the class from Bangor, Maine, celebrating their 50th reunion, which is divided by old rivalries. Emily’s hopes for a 100% survival rate on this trip are dashed when an important member of the tour suffers a tragic (and highly suspicious) accident. Then the saucy seniors’ wild night of drug-laced desserts and risqué shows in Amsterdam’s red light district gets even more mysterious when one reunioner—the class bully—goes missing.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this book!  When I was writing my Top 10 Tuesday post on Monday night, I looked up the order of Maddy's books and discovered Dutch Me Deadly.  I was sure that Norway to Hide, released in 2007, was Maddy's last installment of the series, and apparently so did she - Maddy was nice enough to talk to me briefly today and I discovered that another publisher wanted her to carry on, so she's going to continue the series!  She's even going to see what she can do about getting me an ARC - she is super nice and I was thrilled to chat with her!
