Coming Up in April

I realized today how sporadic my posting has been during March. I didn’t intend to have such big gaps between posts and so few reviews, but that’s what happened. I was busy doing final revisions on my latest novel, spending time with my niece and nephews, and battling a cold that doesn’t seem to want to go away.

So I decided to make a game plan of sorts for April, and hope it keeps me accountable.

• The thing in April I’m most excited about is the release of my fifth book, After the Storm on the 8th. It’s a standalone companion to Waiting for the Storm, which came out last April. I don’t have a ton of promotion planned, so I’m really hoping I can count on the wonderful readers and bloggers I’ve met over the years to help me spread the word. My Street Team has been awesome so far; it’s never too late to become a member if you’re interested!

• I’ll continue working on the top-secret project I’ve been working on the last few weeks, and I’m also hoping to start book 3 in the Angel Island series. Sadie has been whispering in my ear pretty much non-stop for weeks now, so I can’t wait to get her story started.
• The 2014 Historic Fiction Reading Challenge has a sponsor for April! CJ Archer was our sponsor in January, Jodi Lamm was our sponsor in February, and….*drum roll please*…Angela Misri is our sponsor for April. I’m so psyched about this. Angela is donating an e-copy of her brand new book Jewel of the Thames, which is about a 19-year-old girl sleuth who takes up residence at 221 Baker Street. • April is LGBT month, hosted by Cayce from Fighting Dreamer and Laura from Laura Plus Books. One of my goals this year was to read more LGBT fiction, so I’m excited about this month-long event.

• I’m hoping to continue my new feature, Mix It Up Monday. I started it this week, and plan to do it weekly (except next week because I have a cover reveal on Monday). It’s where I’ll be sharing stuff that’s happening in my life, talk about the TV shows and movies I’ve been watching, the music I’ve been listening to, and share pictures. Basically all the non-bookish and writing stuff in my life.
