The Anna and the French Kiss Read-a-long is hosted by Molli from Once Upon a Prologue and Suz from A Soul Unsung
Today's challenge is to post a picture of ourselves with our copy of Anna and the French Kiss and talk about how we got our copy.
Here I am! I got into the spirit by wearing a Paris shirt and Eiffel Tower necklace. Yes, I'm a geek.
And because Anna and the French Kiss is partially about a beautiful boy, I had a beautiful boy join me...
How I got my copy of ANNA:
After the book was published, everywhere I went in the blogosphere people were talking about it. It looked cute, and I love books that are set in Paris, but there was SO MUCH HYPE, I wondered how good it could really be. It was like 'come on, people, really? ALL OF YOU love it? People who don't agree on anything agree on this one book?!' I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to books - I'm not super picky, and there are times when the issues a lot of people have don't bother me, but nobody was even having issues with this book. Everyone claimed it was perfect and hilarious and romantic and had a totally swoonworthy boy.
So I waited for my library to get it. At the time (late 2011), I wasn't buying books because I was poor and couldn't afford it and got all my books at the library or won them from other blogs. Then I won Lola and the Boy Next Door and I thought 'ok now I have to read Anna'. My library still didn't have a copy, so I still went back and forth about it, watched the price fluctuate almost daily on The Book Depository, and then finally bought a copy.
And wouldn't you know, the hype was right. It really was one of the best books ever. It really was cute and hilarious with a swoonworthy boy. And I felt like an idiot for not reading it sooner. Lesson learned!

*melts* Oh, your nephew is just so adorable, Marie! I love the looks he's giving ANNA, like "what is this, and why am I holding it?" Haha. TOO CUTE.
ReplyDeleteAhh! That little boy is so cute and the fact that he's holding Anna is even cuter!

Look at you and all the Paris stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that the hype worked for you! Me, too. And I just bought my first copy! I was lucky that my library had both of Stephanie's books available ... they're both awesome!
I think I will join for this one.
