The 2013 Ireland Reading Challenge is hosted by Books and Movies
Ok, so if you guys have been following along, you'll know that I swore I wasn't going to sign up for many challenges this year. After signing up for over a dozen last year and then not bothering to keep track, I promised myself I'd be more selective this year. I signed up for the 2012 Ireland Reading Challenge, and I think I read one book toward it, although like I said, I didn't do a very good job of keeping track. I wasn't going to sign up again this year, but my Irish blood screamed at me to do it. What can I say? When the blood speaks, I listen...like the way it's telling me I need to go to Ireland in 2013...anyway...
Basically the idea is to read books set in Ireland, about Irish characters, written by Irish authors, about Irish history, etc. I'm committing to the lowest level for now: 4 books, Shamrock level.
A few of the books I hope to read:
One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern (Irish author)
There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones (set in Ireland)
U2: At the End of the World by Bill Flanigan (U2 are Irish)
The Forgotten Ones by Laura Howard (about Irish folk stories that are based on truth)
Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning (set in Ireland)

Oh boy, Karen Marie Moning's Fever series is one of my faves. You should also check out Irish Gold by Andrew M. Greeley. It's a great mix of adventure, history and romance!
