The Keeping it Real Reading Challenge

The Keeping it Real Reading Challenge is hosted by Kathy at I Write, I Read, I Review. This challenge will run for the month of November, and is a celebration of contemporary YA.

This will be my 3rd challenge this year (the first being the Summer Romance Reading Challenge, and the next being a challenge that's on till October 31st, hosted by yours truly - the 2011 Spooktacular October Paranormal Reading Challenge).

You can read full details and rules HERE, but the gist is:
*Read a minimum of 3 YA contemporary books between November 1st and 30th
*Post your reviews on the linky Kathy will post November 1st
*Every review you post will count as an entry for the giveaway
*At the end, three - yes three - lucky people will win a YA contemporary book. That is amazingly generous of Kat, don't you think?

I was going to dedicate November to catching up on review requests, but when I saw this challenge, I knew I had to participate. My own novel will be in the hands of advanced reviewers by then, and I'll be going crazy waiting, so I'll just read as much as I can lol. I still have to read my review books, so I don't know if I'll get much more than the 3 required books read, but I'll try! Three of the books I plan to read:

*What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen
*Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
*Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins (which I actually won from Kathy)

I hope you'll join the challenge, it's going to be a lot of fun!

WRAP-UP, DECEMBER 1st, 2011

I was able to complete this challenge, woohoo! The books I ended up reading were:
1. What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen
2. Virtuosity by Jessica Martinez

3. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

I also won one of the three giveaways Kathy did, and chose Shut Out by Kody Keplinger. Thanks for the great challenge and for the new book, Kat! <3

  1. This almost makes me wish I didn't have other reading obligation... only one of which is YA. Looks like a great one, though, and I will keep my eyes open for your reviews!

  2. Glad to have you along. November is going to be quite an adventure. :D I have some very lovely contemporary YA books that have been sitting on my shelf going "Read me!" while I've been busy with fantasy and paranormal books this month for Halloween. I'm looking forward to:

-- Lola and the Boy Next Door
    -- You Against Me
    -- Shine
    -- If I Stay
    -- Where She Went
-- The Fine Art of Truth or Dare (won from The Party Pony)*
-- My Life Undecided (won from A Cupcake and a Latte)*

*Thanks! Just incase they drop by this. :)

And that's not counting the *other* books I want to get read in November. (I'm looking at you, Shatter Me, Crossed, The Future of Us, The Iron Knight**, Destined**...)

** If I don't drop everything and read those two the moment they get to my house.

    Anyway, now I'm rambling. :) But I can't help it -- I'm excited. :)
