Stacking the Shelves + What's Happening August 24th

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews

Hello lovelies!

It's been a fairly quiet book week for me. I was determined I wouldn't one-click any ebooks on Amazon buuuut...yeah, who was I kidding? I got three for $1 apiece though, so I don't feel too guilty! Plus I got a ton of reading done this week, as you'll see below, which means I'm getting SO CLOSE to being caught up on review books, which means I can finally read some *me* books - YAY! My shelves are overflowing and my Kindle and Kobo are filling up quickly so it'll be nice to have some of the pressure off.

FOR REVIEW:

Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold Cookbook: A Love Story Told Through 150 Recipes {GoodReads}
I'm so excited about this book. It's absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait to try the recipes. A huge thank you to Harlequin for sending this to me and for letting me part of the tour in September!

BOUGHT:
 Letters to Nowhere by Julie Cross {GoodReads}
Precious Things by Stephanie Parent {GoodReads}
His Wicked Game by Ember Casey {GoodReads}

Fire With Fire by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian {GoodReads}
To Be Perfectly Honest (A Novel Based on an Untrue Story) by Sonya Sones {GoodReads}
Leap if Faith by Jamie Blair {GoodReads}

Just One Day by Gayle Forman {GoodReads}

This was a week of reviews! All four star reviews, too, which doesn't happen often. I meant to post a review on Wednesday that was a 2.5 star review, but I forgot so that'll likely go up next week.

  • I reviewed Burn For Burn and Fire With Fire by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian. I know these books have had mixed reviews, but I loved them. I can't wait for the last book in the trilogy and I kinda want to cry because it'll probably be a year before it comes out.
  • I reviewed Click: An Online Love Story and Double Click by Lisa Becker. These books were laugh-out-loud funny, touching, and really different women's fiction. I liked them so much I gave my mum copies of each as a gift.
  • I got a ton of writing done this week on Book #4...like, a little over 13,000 words. I didn't believe the numbers at first so I had to add it up 3 or 4 times lol. I'm really pleased with where it's going and the unexpected turns it's taken from my original plan. I'm around the halfway mark, so I'm hoping to have it done in the next few weeks!
  • I'm spending the weekend with one of my best childhood friends who I haven't seen in about five years. She lives an hour away, so I asked my sister-in-law to drive me, and we decided to make a family outing out of it. She, my mum, and my nephews and niece are all going and we're going to meet my friend for a picnic by the lake before they come back home, and my friend will bring me home Sunday. I've done hardly anything this entire summer (well, this entire year), so I'm really excited. Really, really excited. It'll be amazing to catch up with an old friend (we've known each other since first grade but grew apart when she moved away to college) and I haven't had a good, old-fashioned sleepover in years! :-D So this post goes live at midnight on Saturday, I'll be leaving early Saturday morning, and I have no idea what time I'll be back Sunday, but I'll do the rounds of commenting either Sunday night or Monday.
Have a great weekend!
