Many readers know the tale of Robin Hood, but they will be swept away by this new version full of action, secrets, and romance.
Posing as one of Robin Hood’s thieves to avoid the wrath of the evil Thief Taker Lord Gisbourne, Scarlet has kept her identity secret from all of Nottinghamshire. Only the Hood and his band know the truth: the agile thief posing as a whip of a boy is actually a fearless young woman with a secret past. Helping the people of Nottingham outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life as Gisbourne closes in.
It’s only her fierce loyalty to Robin—whose quick smiles and sharp temper have the rare power to unsettle her—that keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.

This week, all you had to do was read the first chapter of Scarlet and share your first thoughts.
My first thoughts: Chapter One is only 11 pages long, but I already love the
book. The writing style, the use of language - especially Scarlet’s - the
descriptions, just everything. I’m already quite intrigued with Robin and John,
and Scarlet seems tough and capable. I'm curious how she came to be part of the 'band' and what sort of relationship she and Robin will have. I love the way she talks, and that it's different from Robin and John - it makes me wonder about her background and where she came from.
Next week, for our first full week, your assignment is to
read chapters 2-5.
The discussion topic on Monday will be 'What do you love about Robin Hood?' This does not have to be Scarlet specific, it can be Robin Hood in general.
Remember that if you're on Twitter, we're tweeting with the hashtag #Scarlet. You can update your reading progress, share quotes, thoughts, your update posts, etc.

So...what do you think of Scarlet so far?
I agree with you! I want to see what happens between her and Robin AND her background too. :)

I'm really liking it so far, too. The part that hooked me was the hint that something has happened between Scarlet and Gisbourne in the past - I want to know what that is!
