New writing project + anti-bullying blog event

Happy Friday everyone!

The Blue Sky Days blog tour has gotten off to a great start. Today is day 4, and if it continues the way it has been, I think my heart is going to burst with happiness. I feel so incredibly blessed to have so many amazing bloggers participating in the tour. It means the world to me to see so many people have connected on such a deep level to the story and the characters. I think that's every writers dream.

Yesterday, I started on my next writing project. It's very different from BLUE SKY DAYS. This one is an adult book...I guess it would be categorized as chick lit maybe...or just contemporary...something-or-other. I don't know. I had intended to start working on a story I thought up several years ago, but this idea came to me the other night and I ended up writing nine or ten pages of notes and figured I should go with it since I had the momentum. I'm really excited, it's something completely different for me. The setting is my hometown with a twist - I've done a play on the city's name, and all the places are real, except I'm renaming them. I'm having a lot of fun with that so far.

And while I have your attention, I'd like to tell you all about a blogging event coming up on February 3rd - the Spread <3, Not Hate event to speak out against bullying.

This event is hosted by authors KC Neal and KM Parr. I think it's a fantastic idea, and I hope you guys will consider signing up and lending your voice to a very important, very serious matter.

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

  4. This anti-bullying blogging event sounds like a great idea! My son was a victim of bullying and it was a horrible thing to watch him go through. If any parents are looking for a great resource to help stop their child from being bullied, I recommend checking out http://onlineceucredit.com/edu/social-work-ceus-ttt. I hope this is helpful!
