Synopsis: The mansion on top of Benson Hill has been empty and boarded up for years. But a new family has moved in. A family that never ventures out during the day. Who are these creepy people – especially the handsome, dark, and elusive Alexander Sterling? Or rather, what are they? Could the town gossip be true? Are they vampires? Raven, who secretly covets a vampire kiss, both at the risk of her own mortality and Alexander’s loving trust, is dying to uncover the truth.

What I thought of Vampire Kisses:
Short, cute and hilarious, this book is a nice change from the darker paranormal books out there. Raven is completely different from any other character I've read - she's obsessed with monsters, darkness, and basically all things macabre. Quirky, a bit strange, funny, and fearless, she was an interesting character. It's really refreshing to come across a character who's different - and not because it's cool to be different, she's just always been different - and accepts it, owns it, and is proud of it. She doesn't have many friends, people think she's a freak, she gets made fun of, but she doesn't try to fit in and she's not all 'woe is me, nobody likes me'.

The book is short, so we don’t really have that long to get to know Alexander, since he and Raven don’t actually meet till partway through the book. Their relationship is intriguing though, and the way the book ends leaves lots of promise for more romance and adventures in the next book, Kissing Coffins.
