It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #11

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book Date. The idea is to share what you've read lately, what you're currently reading, and what you plan to read next. I love seeing what other people are reading and then adding to my never-ending TBR, so I thought this would be a fun meme to participate in each week!

Happy Monday, book lovers! It's been a few weeks since my last It's Monday post, and I've read quite a few books since then.

What I Finished Reading:

  • Dust and Shadow: An Account of the Ripper Killings by John H Watson by Lyndsay Faye ~ I love all things Sherlock-related and I’ve had a morbid fascination with Jack the Ripper for many years, so I really enjoyed this book. I particularly liked how it was told from Dr. Watson’s perspective, just like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original Sherlock stories.
  • With Malice by Eileen Cook ~This one was just okay for me. I’ve read several of Cook’s books, and they’re hit or miss for me. This was supposed to be a thriller but it was slow and not that much actually happened.
  • Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia ~This is easily one of my favourite books of 2017 so far. Highly recommend, especially if you're nerdy, into fandom, or have anxiety.
  • Racing the Sun by Karina Halle ~This was my first book by Halle and I really enjoyed it. I particularly loved the Italian setting.
  • The Foxe and the Hound by RS Grey ~ This was my third book by Grey, and I found it just okay. It's a 'romantic comedy', but I didn't find it that funny and the story dragged, plus I didn't really like the characters.

What I'm Currently Reading:
  • London Belongs to Us by Sarra Manning ~ I'm obsessed with London and I've had my eye on this book for ages. I finally got the ebook last week with money from a gift card I won - yay!
  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid ~ Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of my favourite authors, and I can't wait to dive into her newest release.
  • Girl Hearts Girl by Lucy Sutcliffe ~ I got this one with a gift card last week, too. I'm trying to read as many LGBTQ+ books as I can during Pride Month, and I thought this would make a nice addition since it's non-fiction and I don't read a lot of non-fiction.

What I Plan to Read Next:
  • The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee ~ I've had an ARC of this for ages and had hoped to read it much sooner (it comes out the 27th), but I'm excited to start it soon. I've heard nothing but great things!
