Lillia, Kat, and Mary
had the perfect plan. Work together in secret to take down the people
who wronged them. But things didn’t exactly go the way they’d hoped at
the Homecoming Dance.
Not even close.
For now, it looks like they got away with it. All they have to do is move on and pick up the pieces, forget there ever was a pact. But it’s not easy, not when Reeve is still a total jerk and Rennie’s meaner than she ever was before.
And then there’s sweet little Mary…she knows there’s something seriously wrong with her. If she can’t control her anger, she’s sure that someone will get hurt even worse than Reeve was. Mary understands now that it’s not just that Reeve bullied her—it’s that he made her love him.
Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, burn for a burn. A broken heart for a broken heart. The girls are up to the task. They’ll make Reeve fall in love with Lillia and then they will crush him. It’s the only way he’ll learn.
It seems once a fire is lit, the only thing you can do is let it burn...

Holy WOW. This
book. I really enjoyed Burn For Burn, and with the cliffhanger
ending I was grateful I had Fire With Fire so I could start it right
away. The book picks up just a few days after where Burn For Burn left
off, with Lillia getting ready to visit Reeve in the hospital after his
accident at homecoming. In a way, the girls got the revenge they wanted, but
they didn’t intend for it to get so out of hand, and Lillia especially is
feeling guilty.
With everything
that happened in the first book, I wasn’t really sure what would happen in Fire
With Fire, or how it could be stretched out as a trilogy. I’m happy to say that
Fire With Fire not only exceeded my expectations, but it also kept me totally
engrossed and eager to find out what would happen next. At 500+ pages, I was a
bit wary, but I read it in just under four days (which is good for me, as a
slow reader), and whenever I put it down I was anxious to get back to it.
In the first book,
I loved the friendship between Lillia, Kat, and Mary. They were so different
but they had a common goal and it slowly became more than that. They began to
rely on each other and form a real bond. Even though their friendship was
strong in the beginning of Fire With Fire and they remained friends, you
could see cracks beginning to form - outside influences slowly started getting
to them, and doubts crept in. Even though they still wanted revenge on certain
people, their main plan had been executed, and they’d discovered revenge wasn’t
necessarily all that sweet. I still enjoyed the dynamics between them, but I
also liked seeing them on their own and with other people.
I absolutely loved
the plot of Fire With Fire. It kept me hooked from beginning to end, and even
though I was pretty sure I had the one big twist figured out in Burn For
Burn (which, I won’t lie, made me slightly smug when so many people said
they were shocked…but I rarely figure out the twists in books, so allow me my
moment of smugness!) it was still one of the best twists I’ve ever read. And
even though I did figure it out early, my mouth still popped open when I found
out I was right. Talk about thrilling! I give major kudos to Han and Vivian for
pulling that off so masterfully. It’s something that most people would likely
never suspect and it was simply amazing. The whole book was full of great
twists and turns, and I enjoyed every moment of it.
With old
friendships and new, old rivalries and new, revenge, romance, a touch of
mystery, and a whole lot of drama, Fire With Fire has something for everyone.
With the way the book ended, I can’t wait for the third installment (and I kinda want
to cry at the thought that it’ll likely be a year before it comes out). This trilogy is
quickly becoming one of my favourites, and it’ll be one I recommend to just
about everyone.

I've heard so many great things about Burn for Burn, I really need to pick up this series. The characters Lillia, Kat, and Mary sound really interesting since the story is told from each of their perspective, and of course the mystery too. Thanks for the great review Marie!
