Summer Wrap-Up Read-a-Thon

The Summer Wrap-Up Read-a-Thon is hosted by Jude at In Between and Jennifer over at Some Like It Paranormal
This is the fourth event I'm participating in right now. The first is the Olympic Readathon, the second is Review Copy Cleanup, and the third is NetGalley KnockOut. I haven't been doing great with my reading so far this month, but luckily it's only the 4th! I'm hoping now that the read-a-thon has started I'll be more motivated to set aside time to sit and read...which is actually what I'm going to go do as soon as I post this!
Here are my reading goals:
(I'm a slow reader, so I'm not going to overdo it!)
Peter Pan by JM Barrie (finished August 5th)
Tiger Lily by Jody Lynn Anderson (finished August 8th)
Kissing Shakespeare by Pamela Mingle (finished August 9th)
Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler (finished August 11th)

UPDATE: AUGUST 11th - woohoo, I met my goal! I finished all four books and I'm on books 5 and 6 (a hardcover and an ebook) - Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock, and Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill.

Now let me show you my REAL TBR pile. I took this picture week before last for a contest Mira Ink was having on their FB page to win 1 of 10 copies of Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry (which I won, by the way *grins like a fool*).
These aren't even all my tbr books, they were just the ones that would fit in the picture!

Clearly I have a problem.

The first SWUR challenge I'm participating in is hosted by A Book Lover's Review, and it's called Hotter Than Summer Boys. What we have to do is list a character we think is hotter than summer, add the book title and cover, our rating and review. Simple and fun, right? I went through all the books I've read so far this year (54 to date) and the guy I came up with is from one of my most recent reads: Perry from Under the Never Sky.

My Review - 5 stars

Why did I choose him? He's smart, resourceful, can use a bow and arrow (something I've found sexy since I was a kid and fell in love with Disney's Robin Hood...yes, I was in love with the cartoon fox from the Disney version), and he loves his family. He's tough and can be lethal, but he's got this sweet, vulnerable side to him that makes me melt.

What book boy(s) do you think is hotter than summer?

Are you participating? What books are you reading? Feel free to leave a link back to your kick-off post so I can come visit you!

  2. Woah - seems like you're a hardcore read-a-thon fan :) I am, too - I plan on participating in two this month!
As for your goals, I'm really jealous you can read Tiger Lily. Being such a huge Peter Pan fan I'm going to have to pick it up sooner or later. If you want to see my goals, you can find them here:

  3. I hope to read Kissing Shakespeare as well! I've also heard amazing things about Twenty Boy Summer. Great TBR pic! If I lined up all my books I would probably have that many too. I also have a problem...
Thanks so much for joining us! Happy reading and good luck getting through your goals!

  4. I deleted last post, my links wont work, anyway, just said I passed on Tiger Lily, i had a chance for ARC, but do not like peter pan, but I hope you enjoy it. I have my list here, and some challenges, the hot boys one is a separate post, as it said to make a post, so I linked it to original post, check it all out.
