I figured it was time to do an update post for the reading challenges I'm participating in. First, there's the Olympic Readathon, hosted by Random House of Canada. My initial goal for that one was 1,000 pages, and as of last night I've read 1,737 pages. Woohoo! Pretty good for this slow reader. :-)
As for Review Copy Cleanup and NetGalley KnockOut, I finally finished my first book for both of those - Kissing Shakespeare by Pamela Mingle. I've mentioned before that without an ereader I have to sit at the computer to read ebooks, but I work at the computer all day, so reading books at the computer is tedious and frustrating, which means I only get a bit read at a time and it takes me for-ev-er. I started Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill last night, which counts for both challenges.
I'm on my fourth of four 'goal' books for the Summer Wrap-Up Readathon. I started Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler night before last and I'm really enjoying it. I've had this tendency to pick really heartbreaking books lately - This is Not a Test, Tiger Lily, now this one, and after it I'll be reading Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson which is sure to be a tear-jerker too. What's wrong with me??
How are you doing with your goals? How many pages/books have you read? Feel free to link to an update post if you have one!
Are you SURE you're a slow reader? :D I'm at 1200-1300-ish pages for the Olympic Readathon. Oh the shame!
ReplyDeleteGood luck and happy reading Marie! :D
