Follow Friday Week 6, Book Blogger Hop Week 7 & TGIF @ GReads Week 2

This week in review: I only did 2 blog posts this week because I'm still trying to get back on track after being away for a few days, plus this insane heat wave we're having has completely addled my poor brain.  I've been trying to work on cover design for my book while my betas are editing (got notes from one of my four readers, I'm very excited because they were really complimentary - and helpful!) but I haven't gotten very far.  My two blog posts for the week were:

TGIF at GReads Week 2: TGIF is hosted by Ginger at GReads - be sure to check out her blog and join in the fun!

This week's question: Bookshelf Tour: Where do you keep your books at home? Are they organized?

I have 4 different homes for my books: a china cabinet of sorts in my living room with the top 2 shelves dedicated to hardcover books; a small bookcase in my hallway that is filled top to bottom with books, mostly paperbacks; an entertainment stand in my bedroom that's full of movies, knick-knacks, my U2 shrine, and 2 whole shelves reserved for my favorite can't-live-without-them books; and a stack at my end of the couch under the coffee table of my library books.  Someday I hope to have a house with a huge library and an actual organizational system for my books.

Follow Friday Fun Week 6 - this weekly meme is hosted by Parajunkee.  Check out her blog for details/rules, and to join!

This week's question: Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from.

Well, I've always said I want to be Nora Roberts when I grow up, so she'd definitely be the first person.  I think she's an absolute genius and I don't know how she manages to pump out so many books that are well-written, well-thought-out and well-researched.  I have a ton of questions I'd like to ask her, and I'd just love to hear what she has to say to someone hoping to make it as a successful author.  The second person would be JK Rowling, who I also think is an absolute genius.  Harry Potter is so engaging, and just so real, even though it's fantasy, I'd love to get pointers and advice from her, and ask her a few specific questions, too.  I'm having trouble thinking of a third, because Nora and JK are my two writing idols, but my third would probably be Janet Evanovich, just because I've read pretty much everything she's written, including her book on writing.  I imagine she has a great sense of humour - how could she write Stephanie Plum's antics and not - so I'd love to just sit and talk to her, have a good laugh and hear what she has to say about writing, her success, etc.

Book Blogger Hop Week 7 - This is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy For Books.  Be sure to stop by her blog to check it out.  This week's post is here.

This week's question: What’s the ONE GENRE that you wish you could get into, but just can’t?

There isn't one, at least not one that automatically comes to mind.  I read pretty much everything - romance, mystery, paranormal/supernatural, chick lit, historical romance, dystopian, sci-fi, urban fiction, young adult.  I just love to read, period, and have really eclectic tastes, so I'll read just about anything.

  10. J.K. Rowling is a popular choice and I can totally see why. She seems like a very nice, down-to-Earth sort of person. Plus, she's got a very interesting writing/publishing story.

Glad to have found you via the Hop!
